His Story and Approach to Osteopath Treatments
Alexander’s interest in Osteopathy started when he was 14 years old. He says Osteopathy found him when in West cork on a summer holiday his Dad had injured his shoulder and he started to work on it with his hands. Much to his surprise his Dad got better and better. This memory of how it felt as he worked on his Dad has stayed with him and happily he still treats him to this day.
His parents appreciated that his interests would be better employed as an osteopath, so he went to London where he trained at the British School of Osteopathy.
Since qualifying in 1984, he is still dedicated to continual professional development in all areas of treatment, from structural, to visceral to cranial.
Most recently he has completed a diploma in paediatrics.
He also has a very strong interest in working with people who have ME and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. He has worked with Ramon Perrin, a college colleague who developed the Perrin Technique.
A lot of the principles and techniques that Alexander employs come from his love and interest in the gentle art of T’ai Chi. He has taught with the School of Tai Chi Chuan for the past twenty years.
